FROM ITS INCEPTION, GUNDARI WAS DESIGNED AND BUILT WITH SUSTAINABILITY IN MIND. BEFORE CONSTRUCTION STARTED, OVER 600 SEEDLINGS WERE COLLECTED AND NURTURED, THEN RETURNED TO REGENERATE THE LAND WITH INDIGENOUS PLANTS, WHILE ALL THE STONEWORK INCORPORATED INTO THE PROPERTY’S DESIGN WAS CREATED USING ROCK EXCAVATED ON-SITE.
GIVING BACK TO NATURE
Gundari is designed to maximise energy efficiency, including the use of bioclimatic buildings. We minimise our footprint wherever possible and actively improve the environment that we inhabit. Our initiatives include:
• Carbon Monitoring & certification program through Earthcheck
• Renewable Solar energy for hot water and pool heating
• 100% electric vehicle fleet, with low carbon free emissions
• Working towards zero waste and no single-use plastics
• Smart centrally controlled energy systems and low light pollution design
• Biological waste water treatment and recycling for irrigation
• Bird monitoring and conservation program from 2024 onward
We are a member of EarthCheck Certified, the world’s leading rigorous, science-based environmental certification and benchmarking program for the tourism industry. Earthcheck audit and measure our carbon footprint regularly so that we can continue the work to improve efficiency and reduce our emissions.
